With no port on the horizon today, July 4th offered the perfect opportunity to slow down and savour all the wonderful things a sea day aboard the Sky Princess has to offer—especially when it comes to food! While Americans onboard celebrated Independence Day, all guests got to indulge in one of cruising’s greatest pleasures: exploring the ship’s diverse dining options.
Breakfast with a View
We started the day with a leisurely breakfast at the International Café, a favourite among guests for its fresh pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and barista-made coffee. It’s a great spot for people-watching in the heart of the Piazza, and even better when you can catch glimpses of the sea rolling by.
A Taste of the World at Lunch
For lunch, we tried the World Fresh Marketplace buffet—always a reliable choice for a casual, varied meal. With cuisine options ranging from Mediterranean salads to Asian stir-fries, there’s something to suit every craving.
Afternoon Indulgences
Later in the day, we returned to the International Café for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up and couldn’t resist one of their sweet treats. Whether you’re in the mood for a latte, a tea, or a light snack, this is the place to unwind.
Dinner at Catch by Rudi
Dinner tonight was something truly special. We dined at Catch by Rudi, the seafood-forward specialty restaurant created by Chef Rudi Sodamin. The presentation was as impressive as the flavours—from artfully plated appetizers to the perfectly prepared catch of the day. It’s an experience that blends culinary artistry with a touch of whimsy, and every course felt like a celebration of the sea. If you’re a seafood lover, this venue is an absolute must on the Sky Princess.
A Festive Finish
Being July 4th, the ship added special touches throughout the evening—from themed decorations to live entertainment and patriotic desserts in the main dining room. It was lovely to see passengers from all over the world joining in the celebration.
