Norway Fjords & Iceland Cruise
Cruising days are often overlooked in favor of bustling ports and bucket-list excursions, but there’s something uniquely magical about a day at sea—especially when you’re aboard the Sky Princess, sailing through the North Atlantic en route to the dramatic fjords of Norway and the wild landscapes of Iceland.
Our day at sea began slowly, with the gentle sway of the ship and the rhythmic sound of waves setting the pace. With no urgent plans, I allowed myself the rare luxury of sleeping in a little before heading to breakfast at the World Fresh Marketplace. Sipping my coffee as the sea stretched endlessly around us, I was struck by just how peaceful everything felt.
The Sky Princess offers plenty of ways to fill your day—or not. I wandered the ship, taking in the elegant atrium, popped into a presentation about Icelandic history, and spent some quiet time in The Sanctuary, the adults-only retreat at the top of the ship. Watching the ocean roll beneath us from a cozy lounge chair wrapped in a blanket? Absolute bliss.

Later in the afternoon, I treated myself to afternoon tea (because why not?) and browsed the onboard shops. As golden-hour approached, the sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm glow across the water—a perfect backdrop for dinner at one of the specialty restaurants.
A day at sea isn’t just a pause between destinations; it’s part of the journey. It’s where the excitement settles into reflection, where you reconnect with yourself, and where you can savor the rhythm of travel without needing to go anywhere at all.
